Alright boys, Im re ringing the ol cad. The bore seems good so I dont plan on reboring, Just freshened up the cylinders with my ball hone, 240 grit. My question is, Should I go with the run of the mill cast rings or should i go with moly? If you'd recommend moly is hone grit too rough?(240 grit dingle berry) Please elaborate. The engine is a 73 472 with a mild cam in a 67SDV. Thanks..

Devillain.
Its "dingle ball. the other term has some hygienic implications.
IOf you are using cast, stock pistons, cast rings will more than suffice.  Be extra careful in your cylinder measurements of bore size and taper.  If you will not be within specs you might be doing the job over soon.
Cadillac metallurgy of the day (high nickle) and their extensive real world testing found that with proper lubrication, maintenance and driving techniques the cylinders would wear .001 per 100,000 miles and after 300,000 miles the wear would stop.

Good info Greg. Moly rings seat easily, but require a very specific honing technique.
