I am putting an electric fuel pump on my DeVille, I have it mounted in the back next to the tank.  Does any one know the best place to get a wire to tap into it?  I know it has to be an ignition wire (the manual says they are tan), and it looks like on the schematic there is a  relay for the windows that might work.  Somewhere under the hood might be better?  thanks for any input.. My mechanical pump only lasted a year...

I agree with your own answer, run a wire from the engine compartment, maybe even with a fuse on it at the power connection point. Your going to want full reliable voltage at the pump and a wire capable of carrying the amperage.

You want to run a dedicated circuit, through a relay and a switch. Pumps pull a lot, and these old cars are barely able to handle what they have, try putting your power windows up at idle. I’d put it on a switch also because whenever the key is on, so is the pump.
