It's no contest -- buy the '58 for $225.  The other
will take you to the poorhouse in restoration costs
giving the asking price.

IMHO the 58 is the more desirable car even at that
asking price.  Of course, a closr inspection to insure
that all proper Eldorado equipment is present and
working properly is a must.

Sounds to me like that shop needs a cash infusion of, say, $250,000? to stay running!

Why do people put these total greed based auctions on ebay?  It appears to be a barn find type car and who knows if the buyer of the car was honest with the estate when they paid them?

I can just see it.  "Uhm, it's a 1959 more door Cadillac, I'll haul it away for you for $1000."

The next gen computer geek thinks about it - he ignored his grandpa who said it was a special car. "Yeah, sure Gramps whatever! Can you give me $500 for new Nintendo?"

Now he is thinking about that new gaming system he wants. It's $1000.  "DEAL!"

I wonder how far off I am ?

Would probably be cheaper to buy a cowl tag from a jiffy yard and build a car around it.

Junk.

If he correctly spelled "Pinin Farina", I might consider bidding on it  >:D......

What's the '59 worth as it sits?  $50k?

What's it worth when restored correctly?  $250k?

Seems like a lot of parts will have to be made.

I'll assume the buyer (if it's sold in the asking price range) has more money than they know what to do with...

The car looks fairly complete, though missing the tri-power and air suspension.  Those are parts that can found a price.  The missing front fender badges above the headlamps though are near impossible to locate, '59 EB only.

My number #56 is complete and likely has less rot since it was a CA & TX car, but needs everything the one for sale is needing.  On the EB forum, it was noted this is  likely a cheap worldwide advertisement to attract some interested parties to hammer out a realistic price.

I am glad it is up for sale as when I saw the Facebook posts of then he bought the car and towed it to his hot rod chop shop, I feared the car would be lost to the customizer.

I can almost smell the mold emanating from the 59...

Matt CLC#18621

Know that 'smell' all too 'well' from when I rescued my former 67 Fleetwood Eldorado that sat for years under a deck enclosed in tarps.

Tough smell to get rid of, and at the time, my small kids were only allowed in it for short cruise periods only when it was moving and the windows were open.

Wasn't willing to take any chances.
