I'm trying to understand the degree of difficulty sourcing parts for a 1936 Cadillac V8. Is that motor a one year only, followed by design improvements? Your comments are appreciated. I'm new to the Cadillac world. Thank you.

I have no heard of a 1936 V8. I believe you are referring to the 1937-48 Cadillac engines. If so, rebuild parts are readily available.

?? Cadillac has had a V-8 since 1914, unless you opted for a V-12 or V-16, when they were available.  Only the LaSalle used a straight 8 for a short time (1934-1936).

Have you tried Egge Machine --- https://egge.com/
or Terrill Machine --- 1000 Co. Rd 454, De Leon, TX 76444 Phone: (254) 893-2610  (no website)

The 36 is a one year only and completely different engine than the 37 which in turn is different than the 38 to 48.
