Agree 100% and I could send a picture of my red with red interior DVC, but it looks identical to the one pictured.  Got mine restored by Gary back in 2008 and still looks like he just finished the job.  It is a durable work of art.

I'd LOVE to compare one side by side to my NOS one.

I'd love to compare the price of a Gary wheel vs NOS.

The original steering wheel is a little different, as my 1970 SDV does have an original steering wheel and you can tell the difference.  However, it is a convincing equal and points at GN have never been deducted because of it.

On the price, Gary's will be way cheaper than an NOS 1970 Cadillac steering wheel, if there is even one out there.  I saw a good used one like on my SDV go for $800 about a decade ago on e-bay.  There is an NOS 1969 Cadillac steering wheel that they want like $4,000 on e-bay a year back.  If I ever go hungry, I can change out the steering wheel on my 1970 SDV with a core wrapped in leather and sell the original on line.

How does Gary "restore" an essentially modern type steering wheel?  Are you referring to the wood inlays (faux wood inlays) ?  Otherwise I must be missing something in translation.  Obviously I have never owned a 1969-70 Cadillac but hear reference to the quality - or lack thereof - of the ones I spot on CL .

We can do that here!

IIRC, the cost of Gary's work is around $2000 (is that right?), Bob, how much is the NOS wheel?

I have no idea what Gary's prices are as I never needed  his services. My NOS wheel is on my car!

Oh, I thought it was one of your goodies for sale.  If it's on your car, is it still considered NOS?  Or is it now a "former NOS wheel now gently used"?
