I have a question about the '58s that were at the GN.

What are the 3 controls in the arm rest pictured?

^ Yes, also was the first memory seat.

Never quite understood how the memory seat controls worked in these cars. Very different from the memory seat option that reappeared in 1981.

I have found the Eldorado brougham memory seat function has a PERFECT memory!!!

It remembers EXACTLY where it broke in 1959!

The engineering of it is a similar ‘principle’  of the wonderbar radio.

WOW, make me feel antique!
Seems like not many understand how technology was built/things controlled pre-transister.   We use much the same things/logic today, just miniaturized.
We're so blinded by digital over past 40 years, it's not funny.
If you look on the back of the '58 dash you'll see early circuit boards, too.

I hope someone will post photos of that particular 1958 Brougham shown at the CLC Nationals in Louisville. The car was spectacular.

It was restored by Harbour Restorations in Florida and is owned by Canadian collector Vernon Smith from Swift Current, Newfoundland.

I can't believe it didn't win best of show or peoples choice.

It’s also interesting the the 1958 brougham was NOT enhanced with the new circuit board the regular line did. In fact very few changes were made for the brougham 1958 model year,  save carburation.

It’s welcoming to see a brougham in hues other than shades of black thru white or navy.

John,

I am not sure which of the Broughams you were looking for pictures of but here are pictures of two of the cars. Hope this helps.

Both cars were great but it was the green Brougham I was referring to. Thanks for the photos.

Hmmm...the green one looks familiar, like it was one we had? Anyone know if it was #177?  I was able to trace an owner back (Dan Howe) to 1964. It was still on original
air suspension ...a clue the 27k miles showing were likely original. It had not been licensed since 1971. Stored for decades. Beautiful restoration !

There were four Eldorado Broughams on the field Saturday morning. Three were exceptionally nice, and the fourth (white car) was unrestored. One of the four was a 1957, and I believe that it was the green one. Someone will confirm. The turquoise green Eldorado was as stunning as any I've ever seen anywhere. (A blue Eldorado Brougham won best in show at the Fall Festival in 2018, and that was a stunner as well.)

William, the Green EB at the GN was not 177.  It is in Ohio being restored.  I looked that the body tag of the green one, but for the life of me, I can't remember what it is and I did not get a photo of the body tag.  I meant to get photos the day of the show, but my judging took all the time of the show, so I missed it.

Chris,

What would you like to know about the mostly white, MI Brougham?  I can provide the answer.

How was the trip home?  Did the wheel bearing replacement address the vibration?  Or was it from something else?

The wheel bearing replacement seems to have gotten rid of the noise and vibration, so I will call it a fix.  We got home fine.

Thanks for asking.

For the seat question answer, attached are the service manual pages on the seat operation and service.  If you really want to understand it, have a look, but it is kind of complicated up to point where it makes sense and after that, not so bad.
