Looking for someone to inspect a 1941 Sedanette around Lex, KY

Hey this is Mike
someone offered me a 1941 Cadillac Series 61.
It is located around Lexington, Kentucky.
Is anyone from around there that could inspect the car for me? The car was parked in 1966, I just Need to know roughly about the condition, if it is a rustbucket not worth saving or if there is a chance.

Mike, is the reward for you for hauling it away?

Maybe, if it has skirts, fog lamps, back up lamp, the interior's mint, good steering wheel and it runs right away when you hit the starter button.

$400 and they deliver it to your door might be high. (If it's black, has a tear on the top of the LH rear fender, it also has a U-joint out and I still have the title.)

you were having problems getting your '41 coupe to run/stay running.  Has there been a satisfactory outcome or are you still struggling with it?  Followups and updates are helpful to others when the problem is determined and fixed.

still nothing new, car is at the shop and I am waiting. Do not worry, as soon as I know more I will let you guys know.
Or is it forbidden to show interest in another car while yours is not running?

   Happens all too often that someone has a head-scratching problem and suggestions for a cure come from all directions reflecting many opinions and experiences --- then not another word.  Always nice, as well as helpful, to know the answer and the outcome.  Thanks.

Mike, I was only passing on some thoughts of what the car "might" be in need of after being inoperable since 1966. That is 53 years of neglect. And remember that the cost of the chrome on the $1345 price leader coupe is almost the same as for a convertible sedan. And paint. And an engine rebuild.

Believe me, the car I described above had all the love and affection bestowed on it that my limited income would allow. (I also had a new girl friend. She's outlasted ALL of my cars.) I also had another Series 61 coupe that I drove and drove. To Tennessee and Virginia as well as back and forth to work. And it took some forty years to get rid of the rose colored glasses that I wore in inspecting each 1941 Cadillac I ever looked at.

And of course you can look at other cars while one is laid up. In fact, you're expected to. Other wise, you won' have to come up with answers to questions like this:

"Where on earth did that thing come from? "No, no, NO! We couldn't afford it if it were free." "You already have a 1941 Cadillac." "NO!" "No, I don't want to go out to dinner." "And yes, I do have a head ache." 

Mike, if I were closer, I'd go and look at it myself for you. I'm not going to rag anyone that wants another '41 Caddie. Best of luck. (Been there, done that.)
