1953 Cadillac Fleetwood parts interchangeability

Just acquired a one-owner 1953 and was wondering what other Cadillac models/years share similar parts for body panels, interior parts, engine, suspension...  Going to keep my eye out for parts cars.

My first comment, it looks like a great find. My second comment,  did you disconnect the drive shaft before you dollied the car?? I sure hope so. Good way to burn up the tranny.

Thats a great find, nice car  If you want to know witch parts are interchangeable with other series 53 cars i suggest that you buy a Master Parts List. Faxon automanauls sells excellent reproductios of the MPL, it comes in 2 volumes.

Thanks for your suggestions so far.  I will look for a master parts catalogue.  But I'm also wondering if Cadillacs from other years are them same as a 1953.

The body was used from 1950-1953. Some parts from the Series 62 should fit. But rear doors, trunk lid, etc are 60S specific. But many things changed in 1953. Like the Cadillac script on the front fenders. Front crest. Lady? Interior door handles are 60S only for this year I believe.

I know of a LARGE stash of 53 FW parts near Sacramento, Ca. I guy parted a complete car years ago. I would say that the widow will NOT ship parts. Come out, rent a U-Haul truck & fill it up. I will put you in contact if you're interested.
