Hi Bob,
I checked out only one venue (Atlantis Casino) and was surprised to see a '53 Coupe along with a '63 vert and a few other '60's Cads.  In my 25 years of attendance, I've never seen another 53 Cad, so I was pleasantly surprised.  All of the Cads I saw were modified.

Hot August Nights has primarily consisted of hot rods and muscle cars.  The average age of attendees would be 70 years old in my estimation.  This year I noticed more '60's and 70's cars, and a younger crowd.  As the baby boomers age out of the hobby, something has to give.  There was a 64 Eldo at the auction that I mentioned in a previous post, but it did not meet reserve.  I'm not sure what the high bid was.  I was going to make a run at it, but purchased a pair of 64 Lincoln Continental Convertibles last week instead.  One was purchased new by actor Lloyd Bridges, I had to look him up since I never head of him, I understand now he was famous......haha

Cheers,
Allen
