I recently communicated with a seller of a 1924 Cadillac.  When I asked what it might need, he said "Tires"  He said he put new tires on it 25-30 years ago that show no wear but are dry and need replaced.  I thought about that.  If it was a 1964 Cadillac, a person would take it to a retailer and get new tires.  Or buy Cokers and have someone install.  But I can not wrap my head around how to handle this issue.

If purchased, in my thinking, I would remove everything and send it to a specialist to dismount and install the new tires.  I can not imagine being successful in breaking down these wheels to get the tires off.  Who has had this era of tires replaced and what am I missing.  How - and who do you use for this specialized service?

Bryan, I don't have an answer for you.... but your post reminded me of a 1930s car that I saw at a Pre-War show.   It was about an early Thirties "Brand X" [Packard] eight cylinder car.. that had MICHELIN RADIALS on its stock wheels!

These Michelins were from Europe.. and the wheel size must have been somewhere on the order of 22 or 24 inches... and narrow, of course, given the era.   Actually this car might have been made anywhere from '29 through '37:  I'm guess that it was a bottom-of-the-line 1934.

But to see such a car with genuine Michelin X radials... was indeed, quite the sight to behold!
