So my friend just bought this car and its very nice. Upon opening the hood we noticed a sticker reading MADE IN OSHAWA CANADA on the left inner fender. The car was made in Detroit, how can this be?  I say the car was smacked at some point. But were inner fenders for that car made in Oshawa?  mmmmm

This doesn't exactly answer your question, but I had a 1970 Chevelle that was built here, that had labels on the front inner fender wells stating that they were "MADE IN CANADA".

We must remember that the Assemblers of any Automobiles obtain components from the cheapest source, no matter where it is.

I remember pulling an Aussie GM car to pieces, and the window regulators were made in Ireland, the lights in Germany.

If people wanted to buy a "one-country of manufacture" to support their own Country, then they would still be riding horses for transport.

Plus, I am pretty sure that other countries love advertising the fact that their products are being used elsewhere.
