Hey guys, I finally got my headlights working a while back when all of a sudden they didnt turn on one day. I did some testing and I am getting 12v power to the light blue wires on the power relay (photo shown) and they do turn off when I turn the switch off, but with the light switch on when I jump a wire between the light blue wires to either the tan or or the green my headlights work. Could that relay be bad? For whatever reason I can't find that Headlight relay replacement anywhere for sale. Anyone have this issue before who can tell me what is exactly going on or where to get a new relay? Can I just run a jumper from the light blue wires to one of the tan or Green and leave it connected bypassing the Eye without destroying something?
Thanks

Relays are available from a bunch of sources.  I'd check Ebay if you're looking to keep your car OEM.

There should be a manufacturer name and part number on the top of the relay housing, and you can put that into Ebay to see if anything is available there.  If nothing there, put the name and number in Google to see what comes up.  If you have the Master Parts List, look up the GM number and put that in Ebay or Google.  If nothing comes up by any of those searches, other relays will do the job, but will look mount differently and the connections will be in different places on the relay.

Adam,

You have the Autronic-Eye option any search at eBay or Google for the relay would need to include the “Autronic-eye” to find the item, it is not a just a normal relay per say.

Since you have +12V at the light blue which comes from the headlight switch at the relay “B” terminal, how about the ground source for it which is coming from the “yellow” wire (on your picture) up to the footswitch and from it up to the relay at the “C” terminal via the violet wire?

You may need to open the cover and take a peek inside if the ground at the “C” is good.

I had rebuild a few of those relays as the contacts inside would come off from the oval rivets from each of the LB or HB terminals, the light blue (+12V) connects to the center contact at the relay. You can hear the relay clicking but no voltage at either LB or HB.

Good luck..!

I am guessing it has a 12VDC coil.  If the original can not be
found, one of these generic relays could be wired in, socket
allows easy replacement.  Under $10 on Evil Buy
good luck, Bruce Roe
