Good evening Gentlemen,
I am try to install a set of headers on a '73 Eldorado. I purchased the headers from Cad 500. Before purchasing the headers I asked if they fit or if modification was needed. They said they fit a stock eldo. My problem is the right side header hits the frame and I cant install it. do any of you guy have any suggestions on how to make them fit. I really don't want to hammer the header tube to flatten it

How much "interference is there?

Could it be that you have engine mounts that are out of shape, and causing the engine to not correctly sit within the frame?

Thank you for the reply. how much interference is there. Not much the proverbial RCH. Maybe a skinny 1/8" I didn't think of a out of shape engine mount. That's why I come to the people that know

That amount, yes, I would be tempted to "caress it a bit with the hammer", but if the suppliers haven't had problems with others they have sold, then it could be your car that is slightly out of shape.

I would still be looking at the engine and transmission mounts.

Over time, and with oil contamination, these rubber mounts do collapse.

Gentlemen,
Thank you for your input. I will definitely check the motor and tranny mounts as Tassie has suggested. If they look to be okay, out comes  the blue wrench and hammer. Again Thank You

Where actually is the interference occurring?

I was thinking about getting a set of headers for my own '72 so pictures would be nice.
