I got one today, strangely about the same time as an email from the CLC.

Here is part of the text of the email:

Dear BCA Member,

Read the December 2019 online issue of "The Buick Bugle".

Username:

Password: xxxxxx29206

Please do no not share your login information.

Couple of things:

I'm not a BCA member.
How did the BCA get my email?
Why is part of the password have my CLC member number?

Anyone else get one?

I didn't get anything.

However, one possibility.  IIRC, Mike & Nancy Book who
handle our administrative stuff also work for the Buick
Club.  Perhaps somehow the wires got crossed in their
E-mail listings??

I did not but curious if the Buick Club uses the same website hosting service as the CLC and the VCCA that Pete manages for us. Maybe a master server issue at the host firm???

Could it be that one of your contacts on your own mailing list, or another Buick Club Member who has you on their mailing list have been hacked?

I got a Buick club email also. I assumed it was because I emailed Bill Anderson around the time of the last judging seminar. I'm not concerned. I just deleted it.

I received the same email except the password area was blank on mine.

I got one too. As mentioned I thought maybe the Books got wires crossed.      Harry

The Books are no longer the BCA Office Administrators.  That is now handled by others.  My guess (and it is just a guess) is that somewhere some wires got crossed in Constant Contact.  I believe that service is used by both clubs to send out email.

Can we have the appropriate CLC Administrator formally look into this?

I also got the e-mail on December 2.  I'm not concerned about it.

I have a good friend who us in the Buick Club, and I've helped him with his 1950 Buick.  So I've used BCA resources on occasion.  It's a good club. For a few areas, Buick parts are interchangeable with Cadillac parts, and i once found something I needed that way.

Hello all,

I also received an email from the Buick club.  It included my full CLC username and password.  I second Jeff Wilk's suggestion that someone in an official CLC capacity look into this matter.

This was a clerical error on my part.
CLC members who attended the 2019 GN had emails in the same email system as the BCA so they could get the GN Survey. This was done in attempt to save the CLC money.  No good dead goes unpunished.
I've fixed the issue.
Sorry for any confusion.
