Have to say that custom two tone paint job looks terrible to me.

Better than what was done to this car.

But, the car has been moved from its' resting place, to hopefully, a restoration, or parts supply.

Cadillac spent millions back in the 1950's to make their cars very stylish.  It is very difficult to beat the look they developed.  Obvioulsey you can make a 1960 SDV (6 window) look better by adding the Fleetwood rocker moldings, but Cadillac designed that.  Frankly, adding the wire wheels are not as nice as the hub caps in the 1950's thru 1976.  And custom colors rarely improve the look either.  However, I am a believer in minor mechanical improvements for drive ability/durability.

And yes I remember the article, very nice.  And I agree the factory paint scheme is better.

Have to wonder,Bruce, just where that very sad Cadillac is "resting"  (aka rusting). Do you have any historical narrative on just how it came to grief? When I see an especially wonderful Cadillac so sadly tossed away, it make me sad.   James

I have more sad pictures of that car, which I saw in 2008, whilst touring North-East USA.   I believe it went to the Montana area with other vehicles on a transporter.

Well it’s a 1958. The 3 2bb intake and carbs are in the engine compartment

The gentleman, Jim street that two toned the brougham bought in 1970 from Tom Barrett and d rove it to Ohio on air suspension, lesson learned. Jim street was a car customer and he created the golden Sahara. See video how innovative with auto start and braking!
