1959 Eldorado hubcap restoration

Who do you go to when you want your hubcaps restored?  I have warped, dented, scratched driver quality 1959 Eldorado hubcaps that I would like to get restored.

Start with the best set you can find , if they are gouged with deep scratches those will be tough to get back to mint . And be careful buying already restored caps a lot of the restored ones are still wavy . When you have them polished have them flash plated for the ultimate look .

Who does all this restoration work?

I prefer to buy NOS or reproductions that are perfect, but as you mentioned those that are advertised as perfect really are not.  I am most afraid of it not being flat.  I've heard horror stories of it falling off in the rear and destroying the skirts.

Never I repeat never use the reproductions , they fly off and will destroy your car ! Nos  are around but they cost 8 -10 thousand a set .  A good chrome shop that does stainless can handle the restoration of the caps

Oooh.  Thank you.  I dodged a bullet there.  Let me look into some shops to see if they will do the work on my current set

Joe Grace in MA does very good stainless work.  I believe he advertises in Hemmings.

Chuck Patton must have a really good source for getting these restored because he sells nice sets that have been repaired and polished.

They are difficult to restore because of the design especially on the outer edge.

Mint used ones are getting very hard to get.
