Basically, yes. There are however details: the 1960 transmission has no rear pump; the 1957 Hydramatic has one. It means that the 1960 cannot be started by pushing the car.
The side levers may be different, but I think you can switch them between both transmissions. Same for the refill tube: you will have to use the 1957 one.
Now, the big deal will be with cooling: the 1960 cars had a cooler into the radiator. 1957 transmissions have an external cooler which can be installed on the 1960 Hydramatic.
Maybe you will get other comments.

Hi Roger,

Thanks for the reply. What do you mean by “cannot he started by pushing the car?”
As for the levers, is this just the linkage?

Thanks

On 1956 -'58 cars, the engine can be started by pushing the car, because those transmissions have a rear pump. From 1959 onwards, the rear pump was deleted; hydraulic pressure is done with the front pump only on those more recent cars.
The levers at the transmission may be different between 1957 and 1960. However, the shafts, one for the T/V and one for the gear changes, are the same if I'm right. You have to check yourself.
