Hi everyone

I’m in need of help from a automotive painter !

Im coming up close to painting the car, and I need help with the paint formulation for Sarasota green code 22 from a 1952 car.

I have trouble getting the formula.
I usually paint with PPG deltron, so it would be great to get that formulation.

Or does anyone have a colour swatch they can send me ?

Attached is a scan of the 1952 Du Pont color chart. The first column is the formula using old pigments. The second is the Cadillac trim code number and the third is the Duco stock number. The old pigments are no longer available and would not work in new paint base.

Get a set of the color samples, a good supplier can scan it and create a formula using modern pigments. The shop I’ve used will make up a pint to test  for match. Most likely it will have to be tweaked. Do the spray out on something portable to bring back to the shop and show the person doing the formulation......It's a big help for them.  Check eBay for color charts  ($10-20) being selective to get one in good condition

You can also get the old color chart paint chips from the DuPont Historical Color Library.

Your jober maybe able to convert the old formula over but it may not be 100%.

There is also this site https://www.autocolorlibrary.com/ and you can order the paint already mix.

Good luck..!
