1960 Dip stick Removal

  Can anyone tell me how the 1960 dip stick tube comes out of the engine

I think those are pushed through with oil pan off...

Even if the dipstick is bent incorrectly, even only slightly, it will give you a mis read on the oil level.

That caused previous owner to fill car with 8 quarts till i got it and emptied it...

Should be same as my 58 365 engine. Mine was snapped off flush w block. Wanted to avoid at all cost removing oil pan. A few hours of finesse ,I got it out. I used a sheet metal type screw and tightened until stub of DS moved. Then was just a matter of pulling screw and stub out together. New DS was $60 ???

It’s a press fit.
You have to pull it out without bending it and snap it it off.
