Howdy everyone!

I am in the process of re-installing my carburetor.

It is a Carter Carburetor.

Anywho, I bought he replacement gaskets and the metal shim. I’m just trying to figure out the order to install them?

Does it go, intake manifold, gasket, carburetor insulator, gasket, metal shim, and carburetor?

Also, when installing these, do I put the gasket maker around each piece, or only do it to the paper gaskets?

Just trying to get this figured out before I mess it up.

Thanks so much!

James

I’m installing the new pieces, just wanted to make sure that the insulator is installed correctly? As well as the top metal shim?

Thank you

Jon S

I found this on the Forum. Not sure if mine is this side up or not, but took a picture for future reference. Not really sure if it matters, but the spacer should be installed this way:

Great! That’s the way I had initially thought.

On the metal shim, what is that little nub part that sticks out the front?
