The replacement module in my 90 shorted this summer and stuck the blower on so that needs replacing again.   The one that quit last year due to mice nesting was a much more modern looking unit.  The replacement had a T03 transistor clearly visible including the number but looking at it now there are 2 issues with fixing it.  One is that the number doesn't come up from reasonably reliable sources and the few sketchy places that do show it its a $60 part.  Second issue is it still may be tricky to replace the way its built and potted.

Just helping a friend with his 84 and which is no longer available other than used and makes my 90's seem like a bargain and we got to wondering if anyone has repaired these or maybe come up with a older style resistor operated by relays sort of thing?   I have not yet dug into what the signal from the head unit is but I would think worst case something like an Arduino could read that signal and operate relays.

I may dig into it deeper if no one else has but it would be cool if someone has at least done some experimenting.
