hello all... I've been hanging out here, trolling lol, and I took delivery of my 1957 Series 62 a few days ago, so I thought I'd write about it! But... I've got to head off to work, so I'll just post some pix of our drive thru the Catskill Mountains yesterday, and I did have a serious mechanical problem I may post elsewhere in this forum. My brakes locked up. And I believe the power brake-master cylinder was the culprit. Somehow it resolved itself, and I was able to complete my trip without a problem

Hmmmm... why do I think I'm attaching several pix, and only the last one posts? Using android device

Funny that the image showing me and my gfriend-selfy-has more views than any of the other great shots. Yeah, I need my beard trimmed...

Beautiful 57!  I had one for about 5 years so if you have any technical questions please feel free to ping me.

Tim, thank you for reaching out. I just posted about the brake lockup issue I experienced yesterday... the brakes seem business as usual again today on a 15 minute drive... I'm out of town visiting family now, I'm not sure if I'm going to trailer the car home, or leave it here and drive it some more...

You might try some neats foot oil through the screw hole in the large round doohickey. When I had my '57 convertible years (and years) ago, that freed up my brake pedal. (There is a large leather seal inside that large round fixture that can dry out.)

I know this suggestion sounds crazy but I read it somewhere in the shop manual or "something" official. The car was my daily driver at the time and at times, I had to drag the pedal back "up" with my foot to be able to use the brake again.

Barry, doesn't sound crazy at all! So what is the large round doo-hickey? The power booster? And the place to apply the neats foot oil is where exactly? The car is not with me now, it's 300 miles away. I should be able to look at it Sunday. I'm going to leaf thru Hemmings and see if there's a rebuilding specialist that maybe I van get some tips from, or maybe that leather seal...

I've never been sure what they call it, but I guess it's the power booster. As I recall, there is a slotted screw near the top that would allow access for a nozzle if removed. It's a fairly large one, and I think that it's the only screw visible.
