Does anybody know the towing capacity of a '47 60S?

Did they even rate cars for towing capacity back then? Ratings are based on stopping capacity first and on engine cooling secondly. Today’s ratings assume you will be trailering on severe grades so Colorado mountains for stopping tests and desert southwest grades for cooling capacity. I would suggest it is going to be based on the condition of your brake system, cooling system and your comfort level. How heavy is the package you want to tow and in what part of the country do you want to tow it? The answer will be different if you are towing in Ohio vs Colorado vs Arizona and if your brakes and cooling systems are operating at 75% or 95%.

Why are you asking?   If its for some official legal reason it could be very difficult to get an answer.

What are you considering towing?   And where?   As in what country/state?   How often?    And have you towed this trailer with anything else?  What?   And the same route you will be doing with the car?    Have you driven the car on this route?
