Much has been discussed about the correct way to replace VC gaskets and it seems there's some agreement on using 1/4 inch cork.  I have not, however, been able to find a manufacturer who sells them that thick.  Any hot tips on where to look?  Thanks.

If you order this kit as a complete engine kit you will get a great selection of gaskets.  The quality was better then when I was buying gaskets individually from the autopart store.  The kit comes with valve cover gaskets in 3/16 but it does come with two sets. One wider then the other. I think for model variation.

I have never seen a Cork Gasket for any Rocker Covers that are 1/4" thick.

If they have to be that thick, then there is some horrible distortion going on.

Thanks for the photos Clewisiii!  I've heard some experienced interference problems with the flange and head when using cork Fel Pro or similar brands (because of their thinner size) and it lead to sealing issues. Has anyone else experienced this?  Thought I should check into this before installing the Fel Pros I bought.

Used auto parts store gaskets on my 60 390 several years ago. Used Permatex to hold them into covers and torqued them down to the manual specs. Key was to retorque them gently after a few drives. I figure the heating and cooling of the engine compressed the gaskets when new causing small leaks. After 3 retorques no more leaks.
