Sometimes you have to just stop and ask.  Need to remove the headlight switch on my '73.  Pushed the button on the top of the switch that is supposed to release the switch stem.  Wouldn't budge.  Before I get out my big hammer is there something I am missing or forgetting to do?

Hi Greg,
Had the same problem when removing the switch on my '73 Caribou.  Was awhile ago but seems to me I pushed the button down while the switch knob was all the way in --- also had to wiggle a little.  If that is not right, then maybe I had the knob pulled all the way out before pushing the release button.  :)   Whatever, it finally came out like it was supposed to, but I do remember having to play with it some.

Glad I was able to help   ;D ;D ;D

Yes, the knob has to be in the "headlight on" position before you press the release button. The way the switch is built, the release doesn't line up with the button until the knob is pulled to the full on position.
A mistake I have made several times myself, and I have been rebuilding them for years.
