The plan is to take delivery this summer but I have a deal on a series 5027.
Some of the first steps will be to gather a lit collection, resurrect the engine, then wiring, fluids, seals, bearings & the like.
The interior will need to be assembled as well but the car has very nice bones.
Among my first questions will be:

What years of GM B body donor cars will a front seat assembly yield?
Gas tank interchange.
16" wheel interchange.

This is gonna be fun!

Where does the steel tubing go?  It looks like there maybe a sight glass in the top.

Not a pre-waree.   Should be documents for '40s around.
Only has one line, some sort of regulator, and a screw cap unless something else missing.
Open the cap and see what's in there.   Vacuum does not make sense to me without a second port.

I am familiar with 1940 Lasalles and I have never seen that. 99.99% chance it is not stock and did not come from the factory.

Where does the steel tube go?

Maybe part of an aftermarket heater system? (Southwind?) They actually burned gasoline for heat.

You could use cushions from a 1939/40 Buick Special/Century, the B bodied 1939/40 Pontiac and Olds. (Not the small Special with the Chevrolet body.)  The 16" wheels from any of these cars should work as well.

Thank You Mr. Wheeler for the great info. I know of a couple of '40s Packard that I may measure up just for grins...

Hi, I think you might find that there would be a lot of difficulty in adapting Packard seats to fit in a LaSalle. Like I am nearly certain that the Packard people (and vice/versa from GM) would make sure that no measurements would match up at all. After all, they were mortal enemies...
