That's cheap!  A couple of year's ago, some guy in Florida was selling his Dad's collection of mint promotional model cars.  The holy grail of Mopar models is supposed to be the '69 Coronet R/T convertible, and he was selling it in three different colors.  Each went for $3600 or so.  The rarest Cadillac promo may be the pewter '87 Allante, but I don't think it is the most popular.

To clarify, I wouldn't pay $1125 for the little model of that car.

To each his own.   Would I pay for a model like that, no way, but when I imported some car back in 1989, the Quarantine bloke questioned me on why I would pay so much, let alone import such a bucket of bolts and rust.   Yes, the car had no engine, drivetrain, interior, drive train, paint, or glass, but to me it was a sought-after body to build a hot rod.

PS.   Some people even collect coins and stamps, and pay a lot more than that.

I guess it's a question of how much $$ do you have.  Me, I'd rather spend it on one of my real cars for something.

Can't really ever see me spending that kind of money on a model car when I have a few cars that I could envision significantly improved and more enjoyable to drive for an investment of $1100. But hey, remember, today's e-market is full of folks just listing and fishing.
