Anybody in the Southern California area have any recommendations for a good reputable shop to rebuild a hydramatic transmission for a 60 Cad?

I can vouch for Art Carr, also known as, California Performance Transmission/CPT in Huntington Beach.  They are a known good Builder/rebuilder for GM based hot rod transmissions in Huntington Beach, California; namely the THM200R4.  I cannot speak to their familiarity with our older Hydramatics.  I will venture that they might be trustworthy for a referral to a SoCal shop that does have a good understanding of our Cadillac Hydramatics.

Hope this helps.  Good Luck in your search and let us know how it pans out.

Valley Transmission in El Cajon specializes in old school cars of all kinds. They’ve been around forever and are highly recommended especially among car clubs down in San Diego. They are definitely experts in rebuilding old transmissions that are in our Cadillacs. I know not too many shops even know how to work on the old Hydra-Matics, but this shop does.

Bunch of old guys work their, so you know that’s a good thing. ;)
