Hello all,

Over the years I have purchased parts for many cars from many sources.  One of those sources is Pep Boys, which is celebrating its 100th year in business this year.

They sent me a centennial calendar which features a 1939 LaSalle sedan as part of a collage on the back cover of the calendar.  The front cover of the calendar features 10 cars, one of which is the LaSalle, and another is a 1956 Series 62 convertible.

Inside, the month of February shows a full-page, front-quarter photo of the 1939 LaSalle.  The month of May shows a full-page front-quarter photo of the 1956 convertible.  The month of August shows a full-page photo of the left side of the dashboard, including steering wheel, cluster, and radio.

I found it interesting, that of all the marques Pep Boys could have selected for the calendar, three months are represented by Cadillac/LaSalle - no Corvette, no Mustang, no Chrysler 300, no '32 Ford coupe - not that these cars are not collectible, they are.  Perhaps the publishers of the calendar were looking for something as quintessentially American as Pep Boys themselves.  And of course, they chose a Cadillac and a LaSalle.  Good call.

Respectfully submitted,
