I last filled up on September 13, 2020.  93 Octane was a beautiful $1.999 a gallon.

Filled up today, 93 Octane gas is $2.659, I got 4.82 miles per gallon from the last tank.  90 miles of around the neighborhood driving, warming up in the driveway prior to driving etc.

Buy some Valero stock. It will pay off if you are driving. LOL.  How long did the car sit between drives? Could his just be evaporation?

I doubt it's evaporation, sits less than 30 days between drives.  Historically, it gets 5 to 7 in the city.  I was a little shocked to see it in the 4s.

Down here we are paying the equivalent of US$4.17 per US Gallon.   And that is for straight unleaded cheap stuff.   Go for the higher octane stuff, and pay US$4.74.

But 4.82 should be rounded up to 5!

;)
Or in our case, rounded down to $4.80, if just buying one Gallon, as we don't have 1 and 2 cents in our currency.   5 cents is the smallest coin that is legal tender.   But 2 Gallons, and that would be $9.64, which would round up to $9.65

Again the truncated demon strikes. Chris earlier I (thought I) posted that my hot rod gets 7.5 MPG.. I would suggest you look at your vacuum advance. When they quit working the first effect is the reduction in gas mileage.

You drove 90 miles just around your neighborhood? That's almost 2 hours without a stop light.
Burn down this tank of fuel completely, put in another fresh tank, I'm sure
you're using branded fuel vs Costco. If the bad mileage happens twice go
looking for a possible reason. Maybe make some notes on today, temp, humidity, etc.
Something as simple as a old gas filter or a dirty air filter, PCV valve could
impact mileage as you know. Burn this fuel down, give it another fresh tank and try again. MHO.
Get it up on the highway and drive it like you stole it, clean all the crap out of the carb,
nothing does that better than 80mph+ sustained.  ;)

Here in New England they sell a winter version of gas. Definitely notice a drop in gas mileage in all cars during the winter.  Combine that with the carbs of our old cars and that we let them idle a little longer to warm up in the winter and that eats up even more gas.

In the winter months most of us who take their old cars out on dry days usually just take them around town.   Mass and inertia take a heavy toll on MPG with stop and go driving.

My 1977 Brand X with its 460 gets about 6-7 around town,  12-13 on the highway and 9-10 combined.

Scot Minesinger

Driving back from KY GN, about 600 miles each way, I got about 14.5 mpg at 70-75mph (lots of hills).  Around town it is more like 11mpg.  5 mpg seems way too low.

I once got almost 16 mpg in my 69 Deville running 75 plus between Tucson and El Paso one evening. If memory serves, it was 15.7 mpg. That was back in 1987.

regular fuel here in Prince Edward Island is 1.30 a liter, thats in canadian money, doesnt matter much as we cant even get off the island due to the shutdown.still cold and wet here, was +2 celsius today, snows near all gone.Harveyb

A realistic figure with Ethanol 60% of the fuel value as gasoline and there being a maximum of 10% Ethanol in the mix, you should get just about 96% of the mileage that you do on pure gasoline.
