Which one is appropriate for my 55 with AC?  My Generator is on its last legs and I wanna swap out the regulator as well.  Thanks.

Tim,

Both A/C or non-A/C cars used the same 30A VR 111 8825 (early part #) replace by 111 9003.

Tim,

:o The 1955-1956 generators are 30A if you bought a 35A generator it may be for a later year.  ??? If you plan on installing the 35A one the VR would need to match the gen output so a 35A VR would need to be install as well.

However if you have the 30A gen you can use a 35A VR with no problem.  ;)

It goes a little deeper than just amp rating, but that' prime.   Need to have the right number of wires.   This used to be easy, but after delco split and remy was bought out they stopped the online archive.   It should be in the part lists but I didn't look as would need the "new" 35A generator number to cross ref.
This booklet is a little before '55 but has some good info.
Somewhere there's a list of pairs, but not able to "resurrect" right now.   May have to wait 3 days...   Any competent auto electric shop can probably tell you.   I even think they make replacement electronic ones.   Sometimes, you can put the new VR and use the old cover to hide.
ps: This file is missed named.
