I need to replace some of the tack strips in my 47, & I can't  seem to find a replacement.   Some of the original, such as what is used around the doors & along the roof for the headliner, looks to be a type of tar impregnated felt. I've only seen tack strips with the tacks already in it . I need to staple into it. I did see on you tube a guy used fan belts  as they are similar in shape and size.   The other material I need is the stripping used in other places that are made of wide flat cardboard .I would rather replace them with something more durable. I do have some ABS sheeting that I'm going to use for the door panels.  Though I'm not sure if staples will hold well in this material. I does shape well to the contours using a heat gun.  Thanks,Bob.

Tack stripping material is available from Hydro-e-lectric.

I got some when I replaced the top on a '71 Eldo.

Visit your local auto upholstery shop.
There are several interior suppliers but I don't know if they offer '47 specific.

Simple.  Make up your own using the heavy cardboard for door upholstery panels.  Cut in strips of the right width and glue together to make the correct thickness.  If you have broken tabs use pop rivets to hold tack strip in channel.
