Where is the name plate located that states the model number... ie. Coupe DeVille, Sedan Deville? Is it on the roof or the fender

The letter in the VIN number denotes what model it is. eg; CDV "J".    The VIN is on the motor stamped on the flat at the front right ahead of the head, or on a plate in the door jam.
The body plate is under the hood on the cowl and will have all the option info.
The model number is 4 digits, and will either start with 60, 62, 75, or 86.  The last two denote the model, except CDV 6237 has a D suffix.
All this is in the manuals you can download from GM Heritage Center archive.

Thank you but I was referring to the outside of the car

V63

The deville series had a gold anodized crest with ie: 'coupe deville'  written fastened to front fenders (lower rear portion) .  Eldorado and Seville similar.  62 series just read "Cadillac" within that crest.

fleetwood 60S Had gold anodized script "sixty special" on tail fin and "fleetwood" in block letters across deck lid.

Asks for a model "number" and wants a model name?
I quit doing miracles and mind reading long ago.
