Valve stem seals to 429?

I am rebuilding 429 for 64 DeVille and got Felpro head gasket kit including valve stem seals. Is it recommended to install those even though they are not used originally? O-rings will be installed.

I'm fairly certain my '66 429 has those oil shedders on the stems. They fit pretty tight over the cast valve guide pedestal (if I recall correctly).

So in yours you have o-rings sliding up and down inside the valve guide...or what?

No, the o-rings are installed to a groove in stem close to the top. In my engine the rings were hard as a rock. They are standard, and there are no stem seals like in many other engines. I assume there is nothing wrong to install the stem seals as well. Need to check that it will not reduce the valve lift.
