I pulled the oil pan on my 1937 model 6045 to clean it per the recommended 12,000 miles interval (my first time). My question is concerning the oil strainer (in the pan, not the filter). After cleaning all the crud by soaking it, it appears to have absorbed some of the parts cleaner and is now sloshing around inside the strainer but there is no way to drain it other than drilling a small hole and then seal it back up. Is this acceptable? If not what should I do?
Thanks
