Hello ,
I would like to know what 1970  Cadillac owners think of the three tires you might see on your average  70 Cadillac .  Try to not let price  be the determining factor.
You have your standard Whitewall , Your  Classic Vogue tire. Or the White Wall stripped tire  that was featured on the 70 Cadillac . Try to forget about the make and the cost . What looks best in your opinion on the car .

    Thanks,
         Bill

All three look good but, for my cars I always go with the period advertising of the car.....I'd go with the last one...

Top photo is what a 1970 had on it when new.

Bottom photo:  Diamondback sells a similar radial tire (slightly wider stripe) so you can have the old look with safety and comfort.

I am about to order 2 sets of 1970 tires in the proper stripe configuration.  They will make these in whatever strip configuration you want.  I have some original spares to measure from.

Maybe we can get a deal on 3 sets Bill.

Hello Brian,
I would be interested in a set of 5  . Diamond back 235/75R15 (Auburn's style  (A )small ring outside Diameter . The last time I checked they were about 250.00 each with a 16 week turnaround . I will go in with you Brian .  Let me know what you find out .  I am ready to do it .

I just received the set I ordered for my 77 Lincoln.   Turn around time is 3-4 weeks depending on how far you need them shipped.    The Lincoln dual stripes are $269.    I think the Cadillac ones are less. At the time the Auburn tires were on back order so they offered me Toyos as the base tire.  Which are just as nice.   I think Rusty at DB tire said they had more Auburns coming in June sometime.

That's what I did for my 68 Eldorado too.  I was happy with the results.

I also like the correct double stripe appearance as well.

Bill,
The Vogue tire was the epitome of Cadillac's "luxury" in the 70's.  Dealers featured them and sold an awful lot.  I personally don't recall seeing vogues on anything but Cadillacs in that era.

Hello ,
Actually I think they all look pretty good .  The advertised tire is very unique . And it is amazing in my opinion it is available  50 years later . I am leaning towards the 1970 stock double ring white wall .

Bill, you should pick the tire you like the look of!

If you are not going to have your Caddy judged at a Concourse event, install the ones that fit correctly and are safe and you like them.

I am English and lived here since 84' and I love the big wide wall tires on our 57' Thunderbird and the 75' Eldorado.

I love the American Classics on our Eldo. They need a little more attention but look great!

Maybe I will install them on our Jeep Commander!! (just kidding!).

It is personal preference!

Hello Gary ,
You are absolutly right . You can put any tire you want on your car. Just wanted to get a feel from 70 caddy owners and their opinions . That double stripped tire is correct for the car  and i like it .

I would go with the first one for two reasons. Personally I think it looks the best and secondly it is the easiest to clean.
