Looking for a door lock actuator for a 75 Eldorado convertible drivers side.  Any recommendation would be helpful.  Thanks in advance.

Good luck. You'd be better off to take out the one you have and go through it. I've found passenger side actuators, but it seems the drivers side is near impossible to find. I just hate having to pull those door panel off more than needed.

honestjohn.com rebuilt the ones in my '73 devile (PO did it, I just found the receipt).

I have rebuilt them myself. It's about 50/50 on if they are even rebuildable. The issue is that where they are located in the door, rain water drips directly down on them and seizes them up solid once the rubber boot on top starts to degrade. In '78, they actuator was completely re-designed and I'm 90% sure it will bolt in but you will have to change the plug.

The later actuators fail too, but at least they are available and cheap,
same unit fits a lot of stuff.  Uses a 2 wire motor which must have
the polarity reversed to go the other way.  An actuator with different
wires for up and down would require a different switch arrangement.

And when they do seize up, that plunger is a real bear to try and get out.

I'll have to look into the later year parts. Changing out the plug is nothing, as long as the polarity is correct.

I had to repair the actuator in my '72, and it was rusted stiff.

I finally got it apart, cleaned up, and when I put it back together, created a water seal using a piece of bicycle inner tube.

If you can get the internals of the seized up actuator out of the shell, you can put the internals from a four door actuator in the two door shell.
