1964 Power Vent Problem

The driver's side power vent on my '64 will not close the window tightly resulting in wind noise at highway speeds.  I can push on the window a bit to hold it closed but the power motor just wobbles at that point.  Otherwise, the power vent window opens and closes easily--it just will not pull tight against the rubber seal.  I am assuming this is because of a worn gear, but I wonder if any of you can confirm that before I fork out for a new gear and discover I don''t need it.  Thanks! Almost 100% vent window regulator gear.
