The Post office has seen in its infinite wisdom to return significant numbers of the September issue of our magazine to the Club business office as undeliverable, despite being properly addressed.

We're working with the local post office in Ohio to get them resent.

Hopefully, they will arrive in your mailbox shortly without any additional delay.

Mine is late, MIA, and most of them arrive to me mangled.
I gave up on complaining because apparently it costs too much to put them in a plastic bag.

Thanks for asking.

Mine arrived yesterday, in good condition, but with an compilation/cutting problem.

Two pages had been folded over, near the outside, and still went through the cutting or trimming machine.

When folded back out flat, it has outer edge of the pages still joined together, and this has led me to try and figure out just how in the heck these issues are printed.

No problems on this end. Thankfully they've been arriving in perfect condition over the last several years after about six months of coming in mangled.

The printing technique is called imposition. There's a Wikipedia article that explains how it works: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Imposition.

What you're seeing is (regrettably) an error at the printer when someone didn't cut the folded pages correctly.

Haven't received mine in Utah yet, which is kind of a bummer since the cover story is local to us.

Thanks Andrew,

I knew it was like that, but that is what I was looking for and shows it beautifully.

Got mine butchered again.
I don't get it.
Other publications that are not in bags seem to come through ok.
Last time I renewed my membership I paid for three years.
Next time it's up I'm done.
It's very annoying. Somehow the Toronado club which is very small can afford a bag. The Thunderbird club can afford a bag.
Yes, I have other cars that are not Cadillacs.
I'm a big supporter of the CLC and try to refer people that own Cadillacs to the club. One less member won't mean anything but I'm not going to continue receiving the monthly publication that looks like trash when I get it.

You'd figure, given the history of the butchering of your SS, that the home office could pony up for an envelope, address it, slip in a SS and off to the PO with it.

Just sayin'.

You need to take it up with the post office.  Take a hand full of the damaged issues to your local post office and complain.  That's the only way it will get resolved.

They are just going to say that the damage occurred before it got to them.
You seriously think that the people at my local post office are going to take responsibility for the condition of a magazine ?
It is getting damaged by going through some machine somewhere.
It's the only publication that I receive out of many monthly publications that arrives like this.

The best way to solve the problem is to just not receive it any more.

Not sure if this is going to help, but is your post box wide enough to accept a non-folded article?

I had a similar problem years ago, and made up my own letter box that was sufficiently wide enough in the mouth to accept unbent mail.

Never had trouble since.
