Has anyone had any experience in having the accessory Cadillac compass serviced?  I am particularly interested in locating a repair facility who can "refill" the liquid inside.  The compass seems to have "lost" some of the liquid to "evaporation", although the compass is NOS and there is no visible leakage.  Is the liquid inside these mineral oil?

They aren't picking on you (although most everyone else might be). I had the same issue myself yesterday.  Wouldn't accept my post. Sooooo, I just forgot about it.  Not too encouraging for users.

Charles, in the absence of other input, I believe it would be mineral spirits (of a specific purity) instead of mineral oil...

You could try a boat/ship compass repair service. They seem to be relatively common.

Most marine compasses are filled with Alcohol, so they won't freeze.

In the past, Sailors found out that it was Alcohol, and used to try and drink the stuff.
