I bought a new Danbury Mint 1953 Eldorado Convertible, in the box at Hershey.  Does anyone remember how much they cost when new?  This one is white, were they all white?

If I remember right, ca. $ 110.00. Mine is also white.

I paid $80.  Thought it was a lot.  I liked it, so I bought it.  Roger, yes I meant the Danbury Mint

I'd say well bought.  It sounds like it's in good shape.

Unfortunately, $80 today is like what $20 used to be.

Shame. To a collector of toys, the original box in great condition is 50% of the value.
Of course the real value is in the enjoyment of the model for the rest of us.

I understand.  However, the foam enclosure and the box smelled so  bad of mold, I had to trash them

One of these LED displays might enhance the pleasure of a great model like you have, and keep it from accumulating dust. Powered by USB
There are some that are more elaborate, but this one about $30.
Dang, i wish I weren't so eclectic.
