I love my Cadillacs but now it's time to get a Chevy

After much debate on getting a 75 Sedan, 78 Lincoln Mark V, 74 Thunderbird or 75 Caprice Classic I have decided to stray far away from Cadillac with the 75 Caprice.  I love attending car shows and showing up in something that no one has or very few people have, so far for the local shows I have attained that goal.

I wanted something to make my little collection more well rounded and show up to car shows next year with something totally different from what I am used to.  Furthermore these beasts in 4 door are extremely difficult to find, the convertibles are everywhere which made me want it even more.   Time to spread my wings and fly!

It's gonna be a great time this winter working on the 78 Biarritz and the 75 Caprice.

I can agree with this.  I recently purchased a non-Cadillac drop top to compliment my 55 but think as I might sometimes I cannot find myself to part ways with my 55.  Too unique.

I've always liked the Caprice classics. The 75's were cool before the downsizing in 77. They're long low-sleek cars which are super cool to me.

Growing up I always wanted a late 40's Chevy Fleetline, an early to mid 50's Chevy 2 door and or a 59-64 Impala, but even 20+years ago all those old Chevy's cost a mini fortune in really nice condition.

An equivalent Cadillac was over half the price and are way better cars at the same time, so buying a vintage Cadillac was a no brainer since nobody collected them so much up until recently a lot of old Caddy's have become absurdly expensive.

70's Chevy are still relatively affordable depending on make and model vs anything from the 60's, so it's best to grab them while you can in the market that we are in today. Best of luck to you with the Caprice Dennis!

Nice comfortable car but didn't last.   Maybe why there not around...

Thanks for sharing about going with a Chevy over a Cadillac on a Cadillac forum.  Obviously most of us disagree.  I was in high school in the 1970's and the Caprices could not get out of their own way from 1973 thru 1976.  My HS friend in 1978 remarking that essentially contrary to his Mom's 1973 Caprice, when you step on the gas pedal of a 1973 Cadillac "something happens".  A standard mid 1970's Cadillac runs rings around a Caprice of the same era in nice style and great comfort too.  The 1977 and newer Caprices of the 1970's enjoyed better power than the 1973 vintage Chevys.

Buying classic cars is often more of an opportunity than anything else.  You cannot pay enough for a great example.

The main thing is we are all happy with our choices.  Enjoy your Chevy and I will enjoy my Cadillacs.
