My electric trunk release has quit working.  If is currently op, but will not close.  At the first attempt to close, the trunk release motor moved a little, and then discontinued.  I can open with key, but the trunk doesn't pull down closed.  Any advise is greatly appreciated.

Check the wire that attaches to the "touch plate". the piece that contacts the trunk latch when it is lowered down.
