Hell, when I rev my motor my wipers seem to come on. Switch is off on the dash, maybe I have something connected wrong? However I do not have the manifold vacuum connected to the 3 way valve on the firewall. Any thoughts? Thanks, George.

Some vacuum is getting through. Either the valve in the wiper motor is leaking or the system is out of rig. The wiper motor valve is controlled by a cable. I would manually close the valve on the wiper motor to see if that helps. If it does then adjust the cable.

I had that on my 56 when one of the rubber valves/gaskets inside the control unit on the lid of the washer  jar was cracked due to age.
Sounds like you need to replace these.
But I know 56 is slightly different from previous.
