Since the front pillar angles slightly backward on the '59, I don't see how this would work with the angle of the trim piece that is shown. The narrow pillar would require the rod orientation to be nearly vertical in order to fit on the pillar.
It may fit on the top of the fender or the roof. IDK, I have never seen one on a '59, hopefully somebody has and will chime in.
