Its finished, a lot of work on the part of Taylor Imaging, and I was a PITA.
Had to have Charles Fares name on there, and I'm sure he's embarrassed, he was so low key.
But he was a friend, a wealth of information, and reasonably sold or donated NUMEROUS parts now on The Ark.
I hope you enjoy the new and improved Ark as much as I do Charles, you are SO missed.

I like posts like this. Charles was a great help with parts and knowledge and never over charged or provided parts for free.

What a nice tribute to Charles, Laurie! He is still very much missed. Every time I see an old Cadillac on the road, or even think of a 69-70 Caddy, it reminds me of you and Charles.  8)

I can still remember his voice in my head, and how well he spoke with such great intelligence. The man was one of a kind. He was the first person to ever tell me that Cadillac built its engines to aircraft grade specification in terms of engine tolerances and precision up until 1971 or 72, Charles did a ton a research and knew a lot about Cadillacs growing up around them all his life. I never knew about the extra steps Cadillac took when building their engines until Charles told me. It goes to show the level of quality, and attention to detail Cadillac put into its mechanical side of things. This is why they were so reliable and durable vehicles up until the downsizing began, which although they were still great cars, the over-build concept, ultra heavy duty body and frames,  and material waste, started to go away after 1976.

Charles would also always tell me "That when a Cadillac engine starts to wear down, it runs like a new Chevy V8". Which is a good thing lol. I'll never forget that.  :D

I loved giving Charles a call, whether for a part or just a chance to talk cars.

Although I never meant him in person, he was a wonderful person to talk to on the phone.
