My 6 way seat switch doesn't move the seat backwards and forwards, the other functions are ok. All the solenoids work ok so is it the switch? My chrome switch levers are all joined together and I think they should operate individually from each other, am I right? Has someone fitted a two way switch if they are different from a 6 way? Thanks for any help you can give me.

Andy,

The seat switch provides two functions,
1-   It feeds power to the relay and to the motor to move the seat forward or reversed.
2-   It also provides power to the specific solenoids while the motor is energized to move the seat in the desired position.

Have you done the test listed on the Service Manual to validate the motor/relay and solenoids?

Because the heavy loads on the switch it is common for them be become fouled at the brass spring contacts and the tip of the plug connectors inside.

The switch can be open and clean there should be 4-spring clips on each corner which holds the assembly. You would need to keep tabs on how each piece and mounted insulator, the metal plate, the small brass springs between them, etc. There is also replacement parts in case to need to rebuilt yours.

Good luck..!
