My 1930 Cad. windows move freely but the cranks do not.  I removed and oiled them with different lubricants but they remain very difficult to turn.  I need suggestions.

Hello Ross,
I was going through some old messages and came upon your question, perhaps you have already solved this one, but let me know how you did it ,please.
In my opinion it is due too the pot metal casting, it sort of grows, due to deteriorating internally and thightens up the handle within the nut, to a degree the nut is comming off, at turning the handles.
I came upon the same I think, with the distributer body,it became solid and when I took it off it turned out to have several cracks,
not able to move any more within the stand, due to these cracks, I had to get a recast body to solve this.Sorry I didnt come upon your question at an earlier date, Johan
