I will definitely buy a Florida Lotto ticket on the outside chance I could bid on this rare loaded 1959 Seville; only 975 were made. Be sure to scroll down for all of the photos.  -Tom H

Correct me if I am wrong - shouldnt the seats in a Seville have an "Eldorado" design patter like the Biarritz?

Great looking car, Tom...and yours is too!  I love what you did with it.  That color is marvelous.  Congratulations!  Now as to the inteior on the Seville in the eBay post, I read that you could order any of the available patterns and materials as a special order.  The sales man would only try to talk you out of it if the colors clashed but generally would do as asked.

My sons 1960 was a series 62 sedan but it had the high grade interior, materials and options of the DeVille including a crinckle top (vinyl painted roof with a rough texture) that is usually only seen on Sevilles.  I like the bucket seats with the simple pattern.  But being particular, I think I would have gotten the Seville pattern.

Quite possible, but I buy mine for drivers so I didnt notice.

Thanks for the compliments.  Do you know if the krinkle tops were by Cadillac, or dealer extras?  I have heard they were the latter.  My SDV has it and I dont like it.  I had my body man sand it off as well as he could, but it still shows and detracts from the good paint job.

Description indicates tilt wheel, was that an option in 59?

Yann Saunders

There was no tilt wheel option in 1959.

If the interior trim is original (which I doubt), then the body tag will (or should) show a "SO" (special order) number next to TRIM.

My guess is that the interior was restored "cheaply", using front and rear seats from a Series 62 coupe.

But I may be wrong.

Yann Saunders

Krinkle top ?

I believe this refers to the so-called "Vicodec" (vinyl) roof covering, grained like convertible top material and harking back to the late twenties when Fleetwood started using the name "cabriolet" for any body style with a leather or cloth roof covering applied to metal.

If the roof covering is original, it will have two overlapping seams running the length of the top, about 6-7 inches inboard of the rain gutters.

Seville interior pattern was "biscuit and  button" design. Materials included mixed colored leathers, or nylon Clarion cloth (in a "fine, random-ribbed pattern") with metallic leather bolsters.

What I see in the photos looks like "narrow 1 1/4 inch piping" with "color harminized, Elascofab [vinyl] side bolsters", as used in the Series 62 coupe and sedan. However, the latter trim featured a vertically ribbed insert between the rear seat backs with a reverse-embossed "V" and crest below.  In the photos, the insert appears plain (cheap).

Again, Im thinking "cheap restoration".
