Hello,
What is the purpose of the condenser mounted on top of the
6-volt coil,1949? Will the car run without it?
I cant find 20 wt. non-detergent oil for my distributor,
what would be an alternate oil? Thanks! Leo

Leo,

The condenser is to stop static in the radio. Car will run fine without it.

20 weight oil is still available. They use it in air compressors so Sears still carries it, as does NAPA.

You can also use Marvel Mystery Oil for the distributor, it works well.
